2 Year Olds

Free part-time places of 15 hours per week for 2 year olds are available subject to eligibility. Your 2-year-old can get free early education and childcare if you live in England and get one of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA)
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Universal Credit - if you and your partner have a combined income from work of less than £15,400 a year after tax
  • tax credits and you have an annual income of under £16,190 before tax
  • the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • support through part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act
  • the Working Tax Credit 4-week run on (the payment you get when you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)

A child can also get free early education and childcare if any of the following apply:

  • they're looked after by a local council
  • they have a current statement of special education needs (SEN) or an education, health and care (EHC) plan
  • they get Disability Living Allowance
  • they've left care under a special guardianship order, child arrangements order or adoption order

You can check eligibility via http://birmingham.gov.uk/2yearolds or alternatively the School will check once you have completed Nursery Admissions Form and will confirm whether your child is entitled to a free part-time 2 year old place.

3 and 4 Year Olds

The Local Authority funds a free part time place of 15 hours for every child from the beginning of the term following their third birthday. There are some full time places, but these will be offered subject to Local Authority criteria. You can find out whether you qualify from the Nursery office.

Please bring your child's birth certificate/passport and a proof of address for the parent/carer (recent utility bill or bank statement) when you come to register.
We will contact you either by letter, email or telephonewhen a place becomes available.

If we are over subscribed, school places will be given based on each child's specific levels of need.

Some working parents of 3 and 4 year olds may be entitled to 30 hours of free childcare, rather than the 15 hours. The 30 hours free childcare is only for 30 weeks of the school year, not 48 weeks. This is equivalent to school term times. You may be able to spread the free childcare out over further weeks, but this will mean that you will get fewer than 30 hours of free childcare each week. The link below gives more information about this service.

If you would like to top up your free 15 hours to full time provision the costs are:

£90.00 for two and a half days (if entitled to free school meals)

£97.05 for two and a half days including three lunches

£20.35 for Wednesday morning/afternoon including lunch
