Miss Frazer - The Wheels on the Bus

Listen and Sing with Joseph

"Words make you think. Music makes you feel"

Sing this rhyme with your children. Beware, they love to scream at the end!

Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream

Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily

Life is but a dream

Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream

Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily

Life is but a dream

Row, row, row your boat gently to the shore

If you see a lion there

Don't forget to roar

Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream

If you see a crocodile

Don't forget to scream!

There are many opportunities for learning involved in this story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Placing objects in order of size is the foundation of learning measurement.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Baby bear = small Mummy bear = medium Daddy bear = large

The story also includes lots of descriptive language with phrases such as too hot, too cold, too hard and too soft, and the repetition of the story makes it easier for children to learn and copy.

It provides a fantastic invitation to play imaginatively!

Try this with your children by drawing a circle on their hand using your finger. Tickle them gently in their armpit when you say the last line of the rhyme.

“Round and Round the Garden”

Round and round the garden
Like a teddy bear.
One step, two step,
Tickle you under there.
