Covid 19 symptoms
a high temperature
a new, continuous cough
a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
According to guidance from the Department of Education, if your child is experiencing one of these symptoms then they will need to isolate for 10 days.
If you wish to get a lateral flow test for your child, then you can do this on day 5 and day 6. If both tests on day 5 and day 6 are negative then your child can return to nursery on day 6.Thank you for your continued support.
Start times of our Nursery School day
Our doors open at 8.45am and we start our day at 9.15am prompt. If you come to nursery after this time then your child will miss out on our first group time learning session. We don’t want anyone to miss out on their learning so please arrive on time. Thank you
Early Help
If you need help with accessing food parcels, benefits, housing, finances, counselling, parenting courses, english classes or adult education please ask to see Mrs Sally Appadu. She can make an early help referral. There are many agencies that can help families at the moment in Birmingham. You can also access Family Support by phoning Doddington Children’s Centre on 0121 477 6440
Attendance
We understand that children are unwell sometimes but it is also important for us to promote good attendance at nursery.
The reasons for children to attend regularly at their early years setting are to support their learning and development, to make sure that children are kept safe, their wellbeing is promoted and they do not miss out on their entitlements and opportunities.
For those children whose attendance has been above 90% by the end of this term, they will be awarded an excellent attendance certificate. Well done to all those children who received a certificate at the end of the Autumn term!
Book Bags
You will be provided with a school book bag so your child can change their library book every week. Please remember to bring your child’s book bag every Tuesday and Thursday so they can borrow a book every week.
There are also red book bags available to buy at the school office. They cost £4.00. Please see Isma at the office if you would like to buy one.
Allergies
Please do not send your child into school with drinks, sweets or other food. We have several children who are severely allergic to fish, pulses and eggs etc. Please note we are also a nut free school. Thank you.
